CIP Wind Workshop and Campus Seminars

Since 2019, CIP has launched a series of "Wind Workshops" in primary schools, attracting thousands of students and teachers to participate. We design different creative activities to let the young generation to understand and learn about offshore wind energy.

We believe it’s essential to let the kids understand from an early age about our environment and the importance of renewable energy through fun and educational events. In the future, we aim to expand these knowledge sharing sessions to schools where the CIP Taiwan Round 3 Projects will be at.

Nearshore Development Fund

We care for the communities where we operate. In Taiwan, CIP’s Changfang & Xidao offshore wind farm has established Nearshore Development Fund - a fund dedicated to the six nearshore towns to further engage with local residents and small business operators. We work with local township offices and NGOs to initiate programs that increase the wellbeing of the people, and also organize various promotion events to stimulate business of agriculture sector. It is our mission to build projects that can bring positive impact. We hope to continue this effort in our Round 3 projects to create sustainable partnership with hosting communities.

Environmental Supervisory Committee

Start from the beginning of our project planning process, we carry out a series of impact assessment to understand potential effects on the environment. We work with experts and academic institutions to study the impacts and mitigations. Furthermore, we also invite government think tank, NGOs and environmental associations to meet regularly to review monitoring reports and to openly discuss actions we can take to protect our environment.

Public Consultation

Respectful and transparent discussion with local communities is vital to the success of wind farm development. We plan to organize a series of public consultation sessions to understand peoples’ priorities and concerns. By doing so, we hope to become a trusted partner to the community. Working collaboratively, we can achieve the energy transition target of Taiwan.
